INTRODUCTION
"Essential Costa Rica" is your go-to when travelling inside of Costa Rica. You'll be able to find all your amenities, guided tours, places to visit and much more beauties that Costa Rica has to unravel. In this "mini-project" I'll be presenting some advertisements for Essential made with DCO Framework in mind.
These ads were made with DCO Frameworks in mind, meaning, they will change and adapt to the type of travelling seeing the ad. These ads offer a variety of tours depending on the travel and search history of user, offering visits and attractions to various places here in Costa Rica. For example, one that likes swimming and being to dive into any form of waterfall, they'll be offered to visit "La Fortuna Waterfall" in Alajuela, Costa Rica; one that prefers hiking through wildlife, will have the opportunity to explore "Monte Verde" in Puntarenas, and finally someone that wants to look through our history in the heart of our capital, will be able to visit San José.
The ads will change depending on what the user has been looking for when travelling, through their data and search history to take a deeper look at what kind of traveller they are, and will send them the appropriate style of ad to meet their needs and travelling desires.
PURPOSE
This was a project made for Critical Mass, intentionally made for them because of a job offering. The position is made for junior designers looking for a program that will help them learn and grow in their designer careers. The project was made to show my skillset to the hiring managers and how my design process and critical thinking, aligned with their current needs for the role, so it was made purposely with that in mind.

Along side this, the job role was to design, manage and create advertisement for multiple accounts depending on their needs. Since this was a fictional project, I wanted to solve a real problem with my design skills whilst also adhering to the skills required by the job.
PROBLEM
Costa Rica is currently facing a hard reality with it biggest source of income — tourism. Just in the last 3 years or so, Costa Rica's tourism has gone down about 17%, affecting national and regional merchants and businesses, since most of their users and customers were tourists visiting the country. Costa Rica has made multiple changes to its tourism trying to get back the popularity that it has, but this has only led to experiences, items, food and more being more expensive, leading to tourists have a second-thought about travelling here.
These ads were made for multiple users with various styles of tourism. The idea was to make several ads to target various tourists and what they like to do. It was not just a call to start touring, it was a very warm welcoming into something they liked, outside of their comfort zone.
The ads targeted these kind of people:
People who wanted to change scenery.
People who love hiking and exploring.
People who wanted to the explore Costa Rica's history.
FINAL DESIGN
With the final designs, the intent is to increase Costa Rica's tourism, giving it the glory it deserves while also being able to adjust to every kind of tourism out there. These ads are estimated to increase around 30% of ad engagement and increase tourism in about 10%.
